[Mod_log_sql] apxs:Error: Command failed with rc=65536

I apologize if I am being dumb here, but I read through the
documentation quite thoroughly,
http://www.outoforder.cc/projects/apache/mod_log_sql/docs-2.0/ and did
not see any mention of errors during gmake.  During the gmake step of
the install process I am receiving this error: "apxs:Error: Command
failed with rc=65536"

I don't know if this is a bug or a configuration problem on my end, but
if anybody could help me I would much appreciate it.

I run FreeBSD 5.0 with ports up to date (HEAD).  Here is what I have
